Nutanix Virtualization Engineer (VMware, Nutanix)

• Extensive hands-on experience with building and managing virtual enterprise environments at scale, spread across multiple data centers.
• Extensive knowledge of virtualization hypervisors, management and automation platforms, and associated tooling.
• Experience in managing Windows and Linux servers.
• Knowledge of private cloud solutions.

• In-depth knowledge of Nutanix or a comparable hyperconverged platform, for example VMware. Certification is a plus, not a requirement.
• Experience with networking, scripting, and automation. Knowledge of Ansible is a plus.
• Sound knowledge of enterprise storage arrays in terms of performance, reliability, and scale.
• Sound knowledge of backup solutions for large virtualized environments.

• A gross monthly salary of €5,400 to €5,900, based on fourteen months. Including holiday allowance and a thirteenth month, this amounts to €75,600 to €82,600 gross per year.

Who You Are

As a Virtualization Engineer, you will integrate into a team responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the network, and for keeping the services running in the various managed environments. The role requires practical knowledge and expertise regarding the design, building, and management of a complex virtual environment.

You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of virtual (enterprise) environments, using replication for environment recovery in case of issues (disaster recovery). Additionally, you will optimize virtualized enterprise environments with different execution methods and ensure the configuration optimization of virtual servers to achieve the best performance.

You document installations by using a runbook and architecture diagrams. You implement standard solutions for processes and procedures, and you work on mitigating risks and capacity planning. Collaboration with operational departments and database management teams is essential to assess future growth.

You develop KPIs and set up monitoring to manage performance and capacity in a fast-growing environment. You work according to the ITIL methodology and proactively keep yourself informed of new technical developments relating to the managed environment.

You work hybrid: partly on-site with the team in Central Netherlands, partly from home. We will coordinate the precise distribution together.

Requirements for this position
For this assignment, a Dutch passport is required and you must be proficient in Dutch, both spoken and written. You will undergo a security screening (VGB), conducted by the MIVD. Kyndryl will guide you through this process.
