The Role
Working at Kyndryl means working on progress. We design, build, manage, and modernize the information systems that the world relies on every day. We do this for various clients, including our client the Ministry of Defence. There, we are building a completely renewed IT infrastructure, enabling the armed forces to remain a high-quality and information-driven organization.
What will you do as a Senior Network Architect Cloud Infra Technology at Defence?
You will help the Ministry of Defence in delivering large-scale ICT projects and introducing innovations in the field of network technology. Security is an inseparable part of this.
As a Senior Network Architect Cloud Infra Technology, you will provide substantive leadership to various developments in the field of network and security technology. You will contribute to the further development and implementation of general and specific network and security services. This includes, among other things, identifying bottlenecks, making improvement proposals, guiding development processes, ensuring lifecycle management, and establishing relevant quality criteria.
You will guide network engineers in the elaboration and implementation of LLDs and act as a point of contact for your environment by, among other things, functioning as a sounding board, conducting meetings regarding bottlenecks and solutions, and sharing developments in the field. Finally, you will recognize technical risks and act accordingly, providing requested and unsolicited advice in the field of network and security.
You will become part of a very strong architect team that constantly seeks the boundaries of what is possible. Your responsibilities consist of:
- In collaboration with Defence Architects, defining current and new ICT operational needs and translating these into technical solutions.
- Designing and implementing Private Cloud solutions within a broader complex IT environment.
- Translating the Program of Requirements into a Technical Design that can operate under extreme conditions.
- Communicating technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Directing and providing substantive guidance to Domain Architects and monitoring the integral architecture across all domains.
- Being an active participant in the Design Authority and making substantive decisions with far-reaching consequences.
- Safeguarding technical security requirements within the network domain, so that the relevant systems can be accredited and policy requirements can be met.
We expect that you can create the right designs at a strategic and conceptual level. You also bring sufficient detail to translate these designs into reality. Additionally, you possess a "helicopter view" with which you can oversee the entire ICT landscape, but you are also able to descend to the detail level, particularly within network and security solutions.
Important to know: to be allowed to work for Defence, you must possess a Dutch passport and undergo a VGB-B security screening.
