What we're looking for
- Experience as an Allround Engineer or System Integrator within complex, distributed IT environments.
- Thorough knowledge of IP networks, including BGP, OSPF, VPNs, firewalls, and DNS.
- Experience with system integration across organizational and security boundaries.
- Knowledge of federated identity concepts, such as PKI, SAML, OAuth, and secure access control.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles within multi-domain environments.
- Experience with virtualization and/or container platforms.
- Ability to analyze faults across network, infrastructure, and service layers.
- Experience with Agile, DevOps, or similar methodologies.
- Willingness to travel internationally for interoperability testing and exercises.
- Strong communication skills and good command of the English language.
Nice to have
- Experience with NATO FMN Spiral Specifications or similar interoperability frameworks.
- Experience within Defense, government, or other highly regulated organizations.
- Knowledge of NATO STANAGs and international data exchange standards.

What you'll get
- A gross monthly salary up to €7,000, based on fourteen months. Including holiday allowance and a thirteenth month, this amounts to €98,000 gross per year.

Visa & relocation
A Dutch passport is required for this assignment, and you must be proficient in Dutch, both spoken and written. You will undergo a security screening (VGB) conducted by the MIVD. Additionally, a NATO security clearance of at least NATO Secret level is required. Kyndryl will guide you through both processes.
The role
What you'll do
You are responsible for:
- Implementing and supporting FMN Core Services, including networking, identity, collaboration, service management, and secure information exchange.
- Realizing interoperability between national systems using standardized interfaces and protocols.
- Configuring, managing, and troubleshooting routing, switching, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, and secure gateways within federated environments.
- Performing integration, verification, and validation activities and participating in interoperability testing, such as CWIX.
- Implementing federated identity & access management and supporting secure information exchange.
- Collaborating with national and international stakeholders to resolve interoperability issues.
- Preparing technical documentation in accordance with FMN governance, including test designs, test results, and compliance evidence.
- Acting as a technical engineer and a coordination point during integration and testing activities.
- Keeping knowledge up to date regarding FMN standards, Spiral Specifications, and interoperability patterns.

What will you do?
As an Allround Engineer FMN Interoperability & Integration, you will contribute to the realization of interoperable mission networks in accordance with NATO Federated Mission Networking (FMN) Spiral 4-6. As part of a small team, you will work on operational federation, standardized Core Services, and secure information exchange between national and international defense networks.
You combine hands-on engineering with technical coordination and work together with national and international stakeholders on the integration, validation, and further development of FMN solutions.
Where will you work?
You will work within one of the largest IT programs in the Netherlands for our client. Depending on the project, you will work at client locations in Central Netherlands, from home, and regularly from the Kyndryl office in Hoofddorp.
