Our Intellectual Property practice litigates at the highest level in the field of intellectual property law. The patent practice operates at the intersection of law, technology, and economics. Litigation takes place in all technological fields, including life sciences, chemistry, and high-tech.

Our lawyers assist clients in proceedings before national courts, the European Patent Office, and the Unified Patent Court (UPC). The Intellectual Property practice of Hogan Lovells Cadwalader is a global leader, including a Band 1 ranking in Chambers Global and a Band 1 ranking in JUVE for UPC Litigation.

You will be working in a young and dynamic team. The cases you handle are cross-border in nature and are often handled in international teams. Hearings take place both domestically and abroad.

For our Amsterdam patent practice, we are looking for a trainee lawyer.

As a trainee lawyer, you will work on complex international patent cases from day one. You will receive intensive guidance, but will also quickly receive substantive responsibility. You will frequently communicate with colleagues both domestically and abroad. The practice requires precision, analytical sharpness, and an interest in technology and innovation.

We are looking for a starting trainee lawyer who:

• Has a completed or nearly completed Master of Laws
• Has an interest in patent law and an affinity for technology and innovation
• Can quickly grasp complex legal issues
• Shows initiative and is entrepreneurial
• Works in a structured and accurate manner
• Expresses themselves clearly and precisely in Dutch and English

• Legal training within an internationally leading IP practice
• Substantively challenging work on complex international patent cases
• Intensive guidance and attention to professional development with training programs domestically and abroad
• An international working environment with a focus on long-term collaboration and room for personal growth
• No rotation between departments, allowing you to gain responsibility quickly
