Master Data Management Stage

Master data is becoming increasingly important in the retail landscape. Without good master data, innovation becomes increasingly complicated. At HEMA, we use Master Data Management to ensure the right data is available to support our stores, as well as HEMA online and the app. Think of product information, specifications, logistical data, and data required for laws and regulations. You will join a mature master data department with data specialists, where data is used daily to make HEMA better. During your internship, you will work closely with and provide support to various units within HEMA, such as Commercial, Supply Chain, and Digital. You will participate in the daily operations of a mature master data department, giving you a unique look behind the scenes of a well-known retailer. You will help with entering and modifying product and location data and ensure that items are presented well online and in stores with the correct specifications, such as materials and other product characteristics. Additionally, you will participate in innovation tracks together with data specialists and work on the further development of dashboards that provide insight into data quality and data completeness. Furthermore, you will work on various projects, such as dashboarding for the data quality of product and sustainability data and supporting the development of new business opportunities within HEMA. This way, you will learn how to work project-based on concrete improvements within the organization. You will work in a fast-developing environment in which your work is truly used.

• You are following a HBO (higher professional education) or WO (university) degree, for example in the direction of (Business) IT & Management, Data Management, Business Administration, Commercial Economics, or something similar.
• You are available from 1 February 2027 for a period of at least 20 weeks. It is possible to complete a research assignment during this internship.
• You are proficient in Dutch and in English, both spoken and written.
• You are accurate and enjoy working with data, structure, and processes.
• You want to learn how product data is used for e-commerce, logistics, and laws and regulations.
• Affinity with dashboards, data analysis, and data quality is a plus (for example Power BI, Excel, or SQL).
• You are curious, proactive, and not afraid to ask questions.
