The role

This is what you will do
The cheese category offers plenty of opportunities to grow further. Developments in consumer behavior, customer needs, sustainability, and market trends continuously create new insights that guide our commercial choices. As Velder-Dupont, we want to make optimal use of these opportunities and use data increasingly better to let our customers and our own organization grow successfully.

What you'll do

You are responsible for developing and implementing commercial, tactical, and strategic category development activities that drive growth for the category, the customer, and Velder-Dupont. You combine market figures, market research, and shopper behavior, translating these insights into concrete advice and growth plans.

Concretely, this means that you

  • You present insights and growth plans to customers and internal stakeholders and know how to convince them of commercial opportunities within the category.
  • You take ownership of category development processes and know how to bring them from analysis to commercial recommendation and implementation.
  • You translate customer- and channel-specific data into recommendations and concrete commercial actions regarding assortment, pricing, promotion, and shelf optimization;
  • You perform analyses on market, customer, and shopper data (including NielsenIQ, IRI, YouGov, and retailer-specific tools);
  • You work independently with available data sources and analyses to make commercial opportunities, customer potential, and growth possibilities transparent;
  • You identify trends, growth opportunities, and threats within the cheese category;
  • You collaborate intensively with account management and marketing to realize joint growth plans and translate category visions into commercial choices.

You are part of the Sustainability & Category team; the knowledge center for data, insights, sustainability, and category development within Velder.
