Microbiology Intern (MBO)

Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Leiden B.V., part of the worldwide operating Eurofins Scientific network, is a leading GMP-certified contract laboratory serving the (bio)pharmaceutical industry. Located in the Leiden Bio Science Park, we offer an extensive range of microbiological, viral, chemical, and physical quality control testing for pharmaceutical raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. In addition to our standard testing packages, we develop and validate product-specific methods in close collaboration with our customers, and we also offer small-scale production services.

Are you looking for an educational working internship where you can gain experience within the pharmaceutical industry starting from February 2027? Then we are looking for you!

During this internship, you will work within our Manufacturing team. You will become acquainted with microbiological activities and learn how medicines are produced and controlled under strictly controlled conditions.

A large part of your activities takes place in a cleanroom. This is different from a regular laboratory: you work in a controlled environment with special clothing and strict hygiene and quality guidelines. This gives you a unique insight into the pharmaceutical sector.

During your internship, you will be involved in, among other things:

• Supporting microbiological and production-related activities;
• Performing Environmental Monitoring (EM);
• Incubating and checking microbiological samples;
• Preparing activities in the cleanroom;
• Cleaning and disinfecting materials and workspaces;
• Registering and documenting performed activities according to GMP guidelines;
• Supporting colleagues with various activities within the team.

You will be guided by experienced colleagues and will gain more independence step by step as your internship progresses.

Will you come and do an internship with us? We are looking for you if you recognize yourself in the following points:

• You are following an MBO education in Microbiology, Biological Medical Laboratory Research (BML), or a comparable laboratory education;
• You are preferably in your third year (fourth-year students are also welcome);
• You are looking for a working internship for a period of approximately six months;
• You are accurate and enjoy working according to fixed procedures;
• You can work both independently and as part of a team;
• You are eager to learn and motivated to gain experience within the pharmaceutical industry;
• You have a good command of the Dutch language.
