Requirements
What we're looking for
At least 5 years of experience developing web applications in TypeScript and React, of which at least 2 years with Next.js or a similar server-side rendering framework.
Experience with developing and optimizing high-traffic websites or applications with a lot of content, images, or traffic, for example within e-commerce, comparison sites, or media.
Knowledge of performance, accessibility, and SEO techniques, including Core Web Vitals, server-side rendering, and structured data.
Experience with GraphQL (preferably Apollo), component libraries or design systems, analytics, A/B testing tools, automated testing, and technically guiding colleagues through code reviews, pairing, or standards.
Good command of the Dutch language and the ability to read technical documentation in English.
Nice to have
Experience with advertising technology or integrating external scripts, such as ad servers, tracking, or consent solutions.
Interest in or experience with Rust as a backend programming language.

The role
Amsterdam - Does it interest you to work as a front-end web developer on an application for Reclamefolder users where you have a major influence on the architecture and technical developments? Then read on quickly!
What you'll do
As a Front-end Web Developer at Reclamefolder.nl, you will work on the further development and modernization of a platform. In doing so, you will make an important contribution to the continuous development of a platform that receives 872,000 unique visitors per month. You are the technical trailblazer of the front-end and have an important role in the architecture, technical choices, and the development of a future-proof platform. With your expertise, you ensure that visitors find flyers and offers quickly and reliably. Without your contribution, the technical development of the website stagnates and the realization of the platform transformation becomes more difficult. You will do this, among other things, by:
Determining the architecture of the front-end in Next.js and TypeScript and monitoring the quality and consistency of the code.
Developing and maintaining functionalities that allow visitors to easily find flyers and offers on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
Working on the component library based on shadcn/ui, so that design and development collaborate more efficiently and consistently.
Using the Apollo GraphQL layer from the front-end and, together with backend colleagues, thinking about schemas and the optimal exposure of search results via OpenSearch.
Optimizing loading speed, accessibility, SEO, and server-side rendering, performing code reviews, identifying technical improvements, and aligning technical choices with product, design, and backend.
Who are we?
Within this role, you spend approximately:
70% of your time on the further development of the website and technical challenges within multidisciplinary projects.
20% on maintenance and improvements of existing functionalities.
10% on organizational agreements and team meetings.

We are Reclamefolder.nl. We believe it is possible to help people save on their daily expenses. We are in the middle of a transformation in which the digital flyer is being completely renewed and the platform is being rebuilt.
Reclamefolder.nl has an entrepreneurial culture with approximately 25 colleagues within IT, marketing, and sales. Although we are part of DPG Media, we operate independently. This gives you a lot of influence on the technical direction and business operations, while at the same time benefiting from the knowledge and expertise of a large media organization.
You work two days per week from our office in Mediavaert in Amsterdam. On these days, we plan as many meetings and collaborations as possible. On the remaining days, you work from home with space for concentrated development work.
