Legal Counsel

Questions about a new product or service that we at Coolblue want to start offering, negotiations on a commercial contract, a privacy issue, new legislation, an adjustment to the website, a dispute: everything comes up at Coolblue. Because of this, as Legal Counsel you are never finished learning and your work naturally becomes broader.

Contract law and consumer law form the basis, with a bit of luck, also privacy. But what you take on in addition to that, you largely determine yourself. Does energy law attract you? Do you want to delve into AI or litigation? Just say the word, and we will look into it. This is how you grow into a true all-round corporate lawyer at the most fun company in Rotterdam.

• Translating legal questions from colleagues into clear and applicable advice that they can immediately move forward with.

• Scrutinizing new topics you have never heard of before, and then becoming the internal specialist on them.

• Being a specialist in the area of commercial contracting for Coolblue.

• Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and partners, together with Procurement and other teams.

• Identifying and addressing legal risks for Coolblue before anyone is affected by them.

• Collaborating on larger projects, such as an acquisition or new laws and regulations.

• Representing Coolblue in court, with or without a lawyer.

• Ensuring that contracts and documents are always up-to-date.

• Money.

• You have a completed university degree (WO) in Law and at least 2 years of experience as a corporate lawyer or attorney.

• Experience with commercial contracting and dispute resolution.

• Helping Coolblue employees within and outside your team to do Legal matters a little bit better every day.

• Super analytical, a sharp eye for detail, and a cool head when pressure is applied.

• Good communication skills and strong in stakeholder management.

• Flexible and solution-oriented, even with difficult legal issues.

• You get big bonus points if you have experience with privacy and enjoy sinking your teeth into it. 

• You speak Dutch, but your English is also very nice.

• The preference is 40 hours per week, but 32 hours is also negotiable.

As Legal Counsel, you ensure that Coolblue always stays legally on track. You dive into commercial contracting, dispute resolution, and occasionally a corporate project such as an acquisition.
