The role
Nice to know (you)
- As Legal Counsel Construction Law, you will be involved in complex (construction) projects at Schiphol, such as the renovation of the C-Pier.
- You will be part of the construction and procurement law team consisting of 5 people and the Corporate Legal Team of 25 people. It is a close-knit and friendly team.
- We are going for it: Schiphol must belong to the top 3 of European airports.
Connecting your world
As Legal Counsel Construction Law, together with four other Legal Counsels, you are responsible for supporting all (strategic) procurement and collaboration contracts, both during their formation and their execution. You report to the Head of Legal Commercial. The focus of your activities lies on the many construction projects at Schiphol. Through your role, you will work across the entire business, giving you a good insight into the various activities and projects at Schiphol. Your activities are diverse, ensuring that no two days are the same. The emphasis lies in the field of construction law, general contract law, and procurement law. Since Schiphol is subject to procurement obligations, large projects must undergo a (European) tender process. The Procurement & Contracting department is responsible for the tender process, during which you advise on the legal aspects. And how you approach this? That is up to you. We rely on the way you perform your work carefully and with an eye for quality, always striving for the best result for Schiphol. You will apply your talents to, among other things:
- The tender for the renovation of the C-pier and the construction of baggage halls (Southern Development);
- Advising on the deployment of Schiphol's Main Contractors during the (major) maintenance of, for example, the runways and the terminal;
- The Tender Committee, in which you, together with the other members, decide on important milestones in tender processes;
- Steering groups of large tenders, in which you, together with senior managers from procurement and the relevant business area, determine the course of tenders;
- Handling objections and injunction proceedings in procurement procedures and writing other legal letters;
- Managing engaged law firms;
- Providing training to Procurement & Contracting and the business.
