Project Assistant / Drafter

As a project assistant/drafter, you will support and collaborate with the project engineer and project manager during various phases of our projects. You provide civil engineering advice and draw the designs yourself. You view problems as challenges and devise and formulate solutions and alternatives for various issues. You develop the questions and sketches from various clients into striking technical designs.

From our office in Groningen, you will get to work on beautiful and challenging projects for various clients in the region. From preparing a large residential area for construction and housing to reconstructing a sewer, for clients such as the province and various municipalities in Groningen. But contractors and large engineering firms can also count on us! You support the project manager and think along with him or her from sketch to delivery.

As a project assistant/drafter...

• You work closely with the project manager and, together with your colleagues, achieve the very best result for the client

• You work for various clients: from provinces and municipalities to property developers and contractors

• You can easily switch between your projects

• You create civil engineering designs and draw them out

• You preferably work full-time at our recently renovated office in Groningen, or (in consultation) also from home or another Bureau Schmidt location

• You are part of our friendly team

You have completed at least an MBO level 4 education, such as infrastructure middle management. You are also accurate, proactive, eager to learn, and independent. Furthermore, you can…

• Design in AutoCAD

• Work with Microsoft Office

• Prepare quantities based on designs in various phases

• You have basic knowledge of the various expertises required in the civil engineering world

• Travel by car (because you have a driver's license)
