What you'll do

As a mid-level/senior acoustic consultant, you will work in a diverse and energetic team fully committed to innovation and development. You will be involved in both purely acoustic and multidisciplinary projects. Within these, you will find variety between residential construction, commercial real estate, cultural projects, urban design analyses, and industry. You will have a role in the Dutch team, which consists of experts in acoustics, fire safety, building physics, lighting design, and sustainability. Additionally, you will maintain close contact with Arup's international network of acoustic and AV experts within Europe and even worldwide. Our acoustic work relates to topics such as room acoustics, building acoustics (sound insulation), environmental noise, industrial noise, installation noise, vibrations, and more. Within Arup, we enrich our advice using auralizations, in-depth simulations, visualizations, and AV expertise.

  • Perform acoustic calculations using modern acoustic calculation and simulation software (including Geomilieu, Odeon, BOA, Insul, Strutt, etc.).
  • Perform various specialist sound and/or vibration measurements on location (air and contact sound insulation, reverberation, speech intelligibility, installation noise, various vibration measurements, etc.).
  • Be responsible for technical advice in smaller as well as large multidisciplinary projects.
  • Provide integrated advice, taking into account sustainability, comfort, innovation, and feasibility.
  • Report and advise in all design phases. From schematic design to project execution through to the occupancy phases of a project.
  • Contribute to the development of digital tools to achieve high-quality advice.
  • Contribute to the training of younger colleagues.
  • Actively participate in the development of the acoustic team and promote Arup values.
