The role
Working at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek: the most beautiful thing you can do with your talent! Behind the scenes of the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek pharmacy, the focus is on designing, making, and supplying medicines. Here lies the world of pharmacy, and one thing is central: the treatment of cancer. Does your pharmacist's heart beat faster at the production of experimental (biotechnological) medicinal products such as tablets, capsules, but also plasmid DNA and T-cells? Then our pharmacy would love to meet you!
Your role
The production pharmacist bears responsibility for maintaining processes and equipment at GMP level within the Production department. As a production pharmacist:
You are responsible for the continuity of production by maintaining facilities and equipment at GMP level;
You are the contact person for analysts and/or pharmacy staff if there are production-related incidents;
You take care of various activities, such as reviewing maintenance reports, writing deviations/OOS/complaints, setting up and performing root-cause analyses, writing CAPAs, and drafting and adjusting production documentation (procedures, operating instructions, registration forms, etc.);
You contribute to the improvement of the quality system, such as the implementation of new regulations (e.g., implementation of the Contamination Control Strategy from GMP Annex 1);
You report to the team leader.
Where you will work
The pharmacy of the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek is responsible for the medication supply of the hospital. Within the Pharmacy, hospital pharmacy is practiced in full scope, including the production of (biotechnological) medicinal products in a state-of-the-art production facility (1000m2), the (bio)analysis of medicinal products, and the distribution of (research) medication. Various techniques are used, including tableting, sachet filling, extrusion, spray drying, freeze drying, and fermentation. Additionally, our pharmacy has an active Adoptive Cell Therapy (ACT) program. This is a new type of immunotherapy where T-cells are taken from the patient's body, grown to large numbers in the cleanroom, and returned to the same patient at the institute. You will work in a driven and multidisciplinary team of (hospital) pharmacists, assistants, analysts, researchers, and physicians.
Why the AVL?
At the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, we all commit to the same goal: the best care for every patient and every type of cancer. That is no small feat. But not impossible. Here, science and care work together on innovation. Time and again, we find new ways that help people with cancer worldwide. Here we save lives, we win time and quality.
Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who enjoys working with the production of medicinal products. We also encourage pharmacists who have recently graduated or are about to graduate to apply! Furthermore:
You see what needs to be done and take on your tasks independently;
You are a social colleague who maintains a flexible attitude in a dynamic working environment;
You communicate clearly and are proficient in both Dutch and English;
Knowledge of GMP is a plus;
You already possess, or are about to possess, a university degree (WO) in pharmacy.
What do we offer you?
The basis for your terms of employment is in accordance with the Cao Ziekenhuizen (Collective Labour Agreement for Hospitals). You will receive from us:
A one-year contract for 36 hours per week, with a view to a permanent contract;
A gross monthly salary between € 4,824 and € 7,269 based on a 36-hour work week, corresponding to FWG 65 and depending on your experience;
