Software Application Engineer

Do you want to use your technical knowledge to bridge the gap between product and customer in an ambitious hardware startup that is making greenhouse horticulture more sustainable? As an Application Engineer, you are the first technical point of contact for our customers and the sales team.

Our product - the Thermeleon Heat Battery - is an innovative day-and-night buffer for greenhouses. It improves the energy efficiency of greenhouses by strategically reusing excess heat during the day-night cycle. In this way, we substantially reduce natural gas consumption and achieve greater climate uniformity across the greenhouse. In this role, you are the technical link between our Sales team and our customers (growers). You independently answer the majority of the technical questions coming in from sales, ensuring that only the more complex issues reach the Tech team. You fall under Operations and work closely with both Sales and the technical team.

You are the first-line technical point of contact for questions coming in from Sales

You translate technical issues into clear, understandable answers for customers and sales colleagues

You independently handle the majority of technical questions coming in from sales

You recognize and prioritize more complex technical issues and pass them on in a structured manner to the Tech team

You support Sales with quotes, demos, and customer meetings where technical depth is required

You actively think along about how the technical process and the customer request can better align with each other

You will build the data platform from the ground up, with significant input in tooling and architecture

Room to grow towards a leadership role within the team

You will work on a concrete, impactful problem: optimizing the energy consumption of greenhouses

An insight into a startup: associated financing, subsidies, etc.

Multidisciplinary collaboration: with Sales, Operations, and the R&D team

Our office is located in the monumental Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam.
