Application Engineer

• a bachelor's/master's degree in logistics, supply chain, ICT, or a comparable field, preferably supplemented with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role;
• experience with configuring WMS systems such as Blue Yonder Dispatcher is a strong plus;
• knowledge of logistical processes, warehouse management systems, and SQL, preferably combined with experience in logistical automation/mechanization;
• analytical ability and the skill to translate operational and external customer needs into IT specifications;
• good communication of the English language, both spoken and written.
• Willing to travel 10-20% for your work.

Move forward as an Application Engineer at DSV in the Netherlands!

Are you able to design, configure, and successfully implement complex WMS solutions within our European warehouses? Do you enjoy working at the intersection of IT, logistics, and operations, with a high degree of independence and international impact? Then this is the role for you.

In the role of application engineer, you contribute to projects at the intersection of IT and operations. You analyze process designs, translate these into application designs, and take care of the configuration and development within, among others, the Blue Yonder Dispatcher warehouse management system. You bring the project to a successful conclusion during the go-live phase. You also configure automated solutions such as Autostore and add-ons such as the Packtool, carrier & TMS platforms: you work on them.

How do you do this? You work on European projects from design through to go-live. You are substantively responsible for the application part and work closely with project managers, process and integration engineers, IT teams, and customers. You achieve this by:

• translating requirements into a functional and technical application design for the WMS;
• building and configuring solutions within the CargoWrite WMS suite (including Blue Yonder Dispatcher);
• performing FAT testing and supervising system, integration, and acceptance testing;
• supervising customer implementations and on-site go-lives within European DSV warehouses;
• assessing the impact of changes and ensuring quality, documentation, and performance;
• acting as the substantive point of contact for WMS issues within projects.
