The role

You will work within the Digital department and collaborate closely with our central Finance department, which is responsible for financial controlling, invoice processing, and order administration. At the same time, you will have regular contact with local finance teams of our operating companies, who perform operational financial activities such as product costing and order administration. As an SAP FiCo Consultant, you play an important role in completing the S/4 Finance core and you will also guide both current and future rollout projects to the operating companies.

You will delve into how financial processes are organized at VDL, both centrally and locally, and translate these into scalable and cloud-compliant solutions within S/4HANA Public Cloud. You will primarily focus on project-based activities and contribute to the pace and quality of our financial setup.

Your duties include, among others:

• Mapping financial and controlling processes at central finance and local finance, and translating these into fit-to-standard S/4HANA solutions.
• Configuring and optimizing S/4HANA Public Cloud finance functionality, such as general ledger, purchase and sales invoices, payment flows, controlling structures, and periodic closings.
• Supporting local finance teams on topics such as product costing, by providing explanations regarding the standard way of working within S/4HANA and the setup of the VDL template.
• Further developing, managing, and monitoring the VDL Finance template and the core setup, and applying these in both ongoing and future rollout projects and migrations.
• Ensuring consistent and scalable financial processes by monitoring the coherence between finance, logistics, and controlling.
• Representing the finance domain in fit-to-standard workshops and rollout trajectories, where you help communicate VDL's central guidelines.
• Guiding and training key users within central finance and at the operating companies.
• Collaborating with colleagues from SAP, integration, architecture, and business to achieve well-aligned financial solutions.

You understand financial processes both functionally and from a business perspective and can switch quickly between central and local interests. You enjoy working in a project-based manner, think ahead, and take initiative to strengthen our financial setup.
