The role

Are you a fully qualified service technician? At Van Dam Groep, we look forward to exploring a challenging role with you. Are you an experienced service mechanic ready for a new challenge, more responsibility, and development opportunities? Then this is your chance to grow into a Housing Management Service Technician.

In this position, you will work on complex installations and will be given the space to further develop yourself. Additionally, you will play an important role in guiding and supporting colleagues. You will do all this within a close-knit and loyal organization that enjoys investing in your growth and development.

What you'll do

As a Housing Management Service Technician, you are the specialist who not only solves complex breakdowns but also knows how to prevent them. You work daily on various installations within homes, where your technical knowledge truly makes the difference. Think of heat pumps, central heating boilers, WTW systems, underfloor heating, and other hydraulic installations. You oversee the complete system, analyze breakdowns with multiple causes, and know exactly where to look to make installations function optimally again. Thanks to your expertise, installations continue to run reliably and residents can count on comfort and quality.

Reports come in via email or telephone. Sometimes a breakdown can be resolved remotely, but if that is not possible, you will head out to the site. On location, you excel at asking the right questions and connecting your laptop to the control technology. You analyze, make the correct diagnosis, and tackle the breakdown decisively. Thanks to your broad technical knowledge, you know how to quickly make the right diagnosis and reach a solution in a targeted manner. This includes checking hydraulic circuits, draining and refilling systems, or resolving breakdowns within CO/LPG installations. Because the correct materials are mostly in your well-equipped van, you can act quickly. Are parts needed that you do not have with you? Then you order the correct materials. These always arrive within 24 hours. Additionally, are there breakdowns where collaboration with experts in specific fields is required? Then you ensure good coordination and supervise the quality of the work to be performed.

In short

With us, you will find:

  • A gross salary between € 3,146 and € 4,245 per month.

  • Plenty of education, training, and career advancement opportunities. Do you want to grow from a Service Mechanic to a Service Technician? Then we are happy to facilitate your growth and development!

  • An extra good reward: once every 9 weeks, you have a week of on-call service. Our breakdowns can be counted on one hand annually. Still, you are guaranteed € 174.40 per week and an allowance of 128% to 184% for overtime.

  • A great team that stands ready for one another. With us, you work within a large professional organization, but feel the warmth of a small, close-knit company.

  • Working with top-quality tools, comfortable workwear, and a well-equipped van. With us, everything is well-organized!

What makes this role truly special?

As a Housing Management Service Technician, you are not only technically skilled but also an important link in the development of yourself and your colleagues. You support mechanics with complex issues, share your knowledge, and ensure that others can grow in their profession. At the same time, you yourself get plenty of opportunities to further develop through education, training, and practical experience. For example, several colleagues have grown into Management Technicians. In this way, you continue to develop yourself within a varied, challenging, and future-oriented position.

For one another!

With us, you don't just work for a company—you work for a family-like company. You notice that in everything. The atmosphere is professional, convivial, and familiar. "The processes, materials, work clothing, and means of transport are always well-organized. Additionally, we take responsibility, we know each other, and we help each other. Or, as we say ourselves: we are there 'for one another'". You notice this supportive attitude not only in how people interact with each other but also in the work. "Because we are there for one another, we can deliver quality and ensure a pleasant working atmosphere—with room for a healthy dose of humor and conviviality. From day one, you feel at home at Van Dam Groep, thanks in part to the personal attention from both colleagues and management. It truly feels like a family business," says Jan Willem.

Moreover, an entrepreneurial mentality prevails: we like to roll up our sleeves. You get the freedom here to make mistakes and learn from them. We think actively along with you regarding your development and value talent. Or, as colleague Jan Willem puts it beautifully: "I once started as a Service Mechanic. Thanks to the growth opportunities within Van Dam Groep, I now fulfill the role of Team Leader. In short: much is possible within our company."

Our offer

Of course, our primary and secondary employment conditions are well-organized. We would like to list them for you:

  • Overtime does not occur often with us. Should it be necessary after all, you will receive an allowance of 128% to 184% for overtime. This forms a nice supplement to the fixed salary.

  • 25 vacation days and 13 ADV days with full-time employment.

  • A position for 32 to 40 hours per week. Working four days a week is not a problem for us.

  • A workplace where you can be yourself and develop. For this, we offer plenty of training, education, and development opportunities.

  • Experience as a Service Engineer, Service Technician, Service, Electrical, or Installation Mechanic.

  • A completed MBO-4 education in Service Technology, Electrical Engineering, Installation Technology, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Installations, or the willingness to follow the education.
