Skills
VDK Groep B.V. is hiring for this role in several places. This vacancy is in the Netherlands.
This job advert was originally written in Dutch.
The role
Every building, every customer, and every day is different. As an Electrical Service Technician at Van Dam Groep, you are the lifesaver when the lights go out, the intercom goes silent, or a power failure occurs. You step into your van in the morning, not knowing exactly what the day will bring, but knowing that you will solve an urgent problem for customers. With your technical insight and down-to-earth approach, you skillfully resolve malfunctions—from fixing issues in switchgear to replacing a camera system. In addition, you get plenty of freedom to do your work your way, while always being able to count on a close-knit team that stands ready "for each other."
What you'll do
As an Electrical Service Technician, you are the one who ensures that electrotechnical installations in commercial real estate always work optimally. From an intercom that no longer produces sound, an electrical fault, switchgear that no longer functions, adding extra circuits to replacing motors of ventilation and extraction systems—you know exactly where to start. With your technical insight, you quickly trace malfunctions, resolve them professionally, and ensure that customers can continue without worries. In doing so, you will notice the sincere appreciation from the customers.
Reports come in to our planners. They collect all the information and schedule the appointment with the customer. As soon as the job appears in your schedule, you set off in your well-stocked van. You primarily work in the Arnhem, Apeldoorn, Enschede, and Zwolle regions, but sometimes you also help colleagues in other parts of the country.
Once on location, you introduce yourself politely and briefly explain why you are there. You take the time to ask the right questions and then proceed in a goal-oriented manner. First, you investigate the source of the malfunction, after which you—if possible—resolve the problem immediately. If you cannot find the cause right away, you consult with a colleague or supplier to reach the right solution together. If materials are needed that you do not have with you, you arrange these yourself or they will be ordered. After performing the work, you clearly record what the problem was, what you performed, and what the result is.
In short
With us, you will find:
A good gross salary between €3,146 and €4,245 per month (on top of this, there are extra allowances!).
Extra good reward: once every 11 weeks, you have an on-call duty week. Our malfunctions can be counted on one hand annually. Still, you are guaranteed €174.40 per week plus an allowance of 128% to 184% for overtime.
A great team that stands ready for each other. With us, you work within a large professional organization, but with the warmth of a small family business.
Working with top-quality tools, comfortable workwear, and a well-equipped van.
Freedom and responsibility to help customers optimally.
What makes this role so unique
That is the independence. You are given the trust to work independently, but can always fall back on your colleagues. The field team consists of 7 technicians—a mix of mechanical and electrical technicians—and together you ensure that residents and property owners are always well helped.
For one another!
With us, you don't just work for a company—you work for a family-oriented company. You can feel that in everything. The atmosphere is professional, convivial, and familiar. "The processes, materials, work clothing, and means of transport are always well organized. Additionally, we take responsibility, we know each other, and we help each other. Or, as we say ourselves: we are there 'for each other'." You notice this supportive attitude not only in how you interact with one another, but also in the work. "Because we are there for each other, we can deliver quality and ensure a pleasant working atmosphere—with room for a healthy dose of humor and conviviality. From day one, you feel at home at Van Dam Groep, thanks in part to the personal attention from both colleagues and management. With us, everything is discussable, from training to private situations. It truly feels like one whole," says Egbert.
Moreover, there is a true 'roll up your sleeves' culture. You are given the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. We actively think along with your development and value talent. Or, as colleague Egbert puts it beautifully: "I once started as a Service Technician. Thanks to the growth opportunities, I even had the possibility to become a Team Leader. In short: much is possible within our company."
