What we're looking for

At least 2 years of experience as a Developer or in a similar role;
A degree in AI or similar, at least a university bachelor's level;
At least 3 years of experience with Python;
At least 2 years of experience with developing and implementing LLM solutions;
Strong knowledge of prompt engineering, AI agents, and RAG;
Knowledge of AI safety, hallucinations, and guardrails;
Experience with DevOps and version control, such as Git;
Good command of Dutch and English.

The role

Varrlyn is a consulting firm which was founded in 2010 and is based in The Netherlands. We help financial institutions with system implementations and provide some serious application support, concentrating on the way they process transactions and deploy reporting applications.

What you'll do

For an innovative R&D project, we are looking for an AI Developer who wants to work on smart AI solutions that are actually applied in practice. You will work with a multi-agent system, in which different AI agents collaborate to perform complex tasks.

A special part of the project is the connection with a training and simulation environment. The AI agents are used, among other things, to generate scenarios, analyze situations, and control NPCs. For this, you will work together with developers and specialists from various disciplines.

What will you do?

You design, develop, and optimize AI agents, each with their own role within the system. In doing so, you translate processes into effective prompts and agent workflows and experiment with different language models and techniques.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

Developing and integrating AI agents and multi-agent systems;
Working with LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG;
Experimenting with different models, including open-source LLMs;
Testing, debugging, and optimizing AI solutions;
Applying AI safety, guardrails, and measures regarding hallucinations;
Connecting AI to game and simulation components;
Thinking along about architecture, model choice, security, performance, and scalability;
Collaborating within a DevOps/R&D environment.
