Your added value as Domain Architect Infra & Cloud
Do you want to build the digital infrastructure behind Dutch democracy? As Domain Architect Infra & Cloud, you play a key role in the sustainable functioning of our hybrid cloud platform, on which parliamentarily critical data and applications run.
Together with Solution, Domain, and Lead Architects, you provide direction to the future of our IT environment. You develop roadmaps, monitor architecture lines, and work on a secure, modern, and future-proof hybrid infrastructure for business applications, cloud platforms, information systems, development environments, and data platforms.
You translate the IT vision and strategy into clear frameworks and practical guidelines for engineering teams, suppliers, and IT projects. In doing so, you make a direct contribution to a reliable digital working environment for Members of Parliament and employees of the House of Representatives.
The IT landscape of the House of Representatives is continuously evolving towards a coherent ecosystem of on-premises infrastructure, cloud platforms, and SaaS services. New solutions rarely stand alone and almost always require integration with existing facilities in the areas of identity and access management, networks, security, logging, monitoring, and data exchange. Therefore, you possess knowledge of integration architecture and understand how interfaces, APIs, and platform services contribute to a robust, secure, and manageable IT landscape.
Main tasks
You:
translates the IT vision and strategy within the Infra & Cloud domain into practical frameworks and guidelines for engineering teams, suppliers, and IT projects;
assesses requests for customization and new services against the architecture, performs impact analyses, and advises the Governance Team on these matters;
participates in the Solution Group, where business requests are translated into sustainable IT solutions and services according to an agile way of working;
develops roadmaps and plateau planning for the IT infrastructure and services within your domain together with Product Owners;
provides direction to IT projects and programs by drafting starting architectures, frameworks, guidelines, connection requirements, and high-level designs;
advises on cross-domain changes within the IT infrastructure and services;
collaborates with service teams, engineering teams, suppliers, partners, and fellow architects to solve complex architectural issues.
What we ask of you
At least five years of IT experience and demonstrable experience working under architecture, preferably as an Azure Cloud Solution Architect and/or IT Infrastructure Architect.
Extensive knowledge of Azure Cloud solutions and experience with Azure Infrastructure and Platform Services, preferably within hybrid and (hyper)converged infrastructures.
Knowledge of integration architecture and designing connections between SaaS solutions, cloud platforms, and existing infrastructure, including APIs, identity and access management, network connectivity, and data exchange.
Experience with agile working and ITIL processes; knowledge of CI/CD, Software Defined Datacenters, and automation is a plus.
Strategic thinking ability and a pragmatic approach: you oversee the coherence in the IT landscape and translate architecture into concrete choices and workable guidelines.
Where you will work
You will work in the temporary premises of the House of Representatives at Bezuidenhoutseweg 67, within walking distance of Den Haag Centraal station.
Within the Automation Department, you are part of the Infra & Cloud team. This team is responsible for the IT platforms and infrastructure used to develop, host, connect, and provide access to applications. At the same time, we are building the services of tomorrow: A hybrid cloud infrastructure that meets the high demands of the House of Representatives organization.
You work closely with the Domain Architect Digital Workspace, the Solution Architects, and the IT Lead Architect, and you make an active contribution to the further digital transformation of the House of Representatives.
