The role

From breaking news to personal wonder, from a new trend to the topic of the day: you immediately see which stories are worth telling and know how to come up with a surprising angle. As an Editor at EditieNL, you will daily conceive and prepare topics that grow into reports for our broadcasts and online channels.

What you will do
As an Editor at EditieNL, you turn creative ideas into strong reports. You follow the news and social developments closely and translate these into relevant topics that touch our viewers. Your strength lies in conceiving, researching, and preparing stories. You brainstorm with the editorial team about new ideas, jointly determine the angle of a topic, and ensure everything is ready for the reporter. Specifically, you will work on:

What you'll do

Conceiving and developing topics for the broadcast and online; daily you pitch three ideas during the editorial meeting.
Finding and approaching the right experts, people with lived experience, and other speakers for reports.
Conducting research, checking facts, and gathering relevant figures and background information.
Searching for visual material that strengthens the report.
Collaborating with reporters and colleagues to present topics as strongly as possible in terms of content.
Thinking along about the online translation of stories.
