The role
Do you want to play a key role in the design and engineering of advanced dredging vessels and lead a team of engineering professionals? Then this might be the challenge you are looking for.
As a Senior Naval Architect, you will be part of the engineering team within PMG Standard Modular Dredging Vessels. You are the technical authority in the field of Naval Basic Engineering and play a leading role in the development and realization of our dredging solutions. Together with specialists in the fields of mechanical engineering, hydraulics, piping, electrical engineering, and mission equipment, you will work on innovative and high-quality ship designs.
The team consists of a good mix of experienced professionals and young talents. Colleagues appreciate the collegial atmosphere, knowledge sharing, and the willingness to help one another. Within PMG Standard Modular Vessels, you will get the opportunity to build up broad knowledge of the complete dredging vessel: from hull design and stability to cutter installations and spud poles.
What you'll do
In this role, you are the technical lead and Discipline Coordinator for Naval Basic Engineering. You are responsible for the coordination of engineering activities within multiple projects and ensure that all deliverables meet customer specifications, classification requirements, and relevant laws and regulations.
In addition to your coordinating role, you actively contribute to engineering activities. Furthermore, you supervise and coach engineers within the team and serve as an important sparring partner throughout the entire project cycle.
Your responsibilities
- Leading and coordinating the Naval Basic Engineering discipline within multiple projects.
- Technical guidance and coaching of a small team of Naval Architects and Engineers.
- Reviewing and approving engineering deliverables for quality, consistency, and compliance.
- Monitoring planning, progress, quality, and any outsourced engineering activities.
