The role

Quality Engineer Precision Solutions

Are you an experienced Quality Engineer who wants to influence product quality before problems reach production or the customer?

At Prodrive Technologies, we are looking for a Quality Engineer R&D to strengthen our Precision Solutions development teams, working on complex high-tech electronic, electromechanical and mechatronic products and systems.

As Quality Engineer R&D, your main objective is to build quality into products from the start of development and remain connected to product quality throughout the lifecycle.

Within Precision Solutions, you work in an environment where precision mechanics, electronics, motion control, optics, software and advanced manufacturing come together. You collaborate closely with System Engineering, Development, Project Management, Industrialization, Supplier Quality, Operations and Service.

You bring a structured quality perspective into technical decision-making, challenge teams to identify risks early, translate customer expectations into measurable requirements and ensure that lessons from previous products are used to prevent recurrence.

You actively contribute throughout the development Stage Gate process. You establish the initial quality-risk picture, ensure customer quality requirements and design risks are addressed, and facilitate effective use of DFMEA and Lessons Learned.

During the product lifecycle, you act as the Quality interface for selected customer and product accounts. You support Operations and Service when significant product-quality issues require technical investigation, cross-functional coordination or escalation, and ensure that customer complaints, repairs, field issues and production experience are fed back into product development.

Engineering retains ownership of technical design decisions and risks. Your role is to facilitate, challenge and connect disciplines so that quality risks are understood, decisions are supported by evidence and agreed actions are followed through. Your key responsibilities are:

What you'll do

  • Perform and facilitate the initial Quality Risk Assessment and determine the required Quality involvement for development projects.

  • Translate customer and system expectations into clear Customer Quality Requirements, CTQs/critical characteristics and acceptance criteria.

  • Facilitate and challenge DFMEA activities, ensuring design risks are identified and followed up while Engineering retains ownership of technical risk content and design actions.

  • Bring Lessons Learned from customer complaints, 8Ds, supplier and internal non-conformities, production, repairs and field experience into new developments.

  • Represent Quality throughout the Stage Gate process, ensuring traceability between requirements, design risks, verification activities and manufacturing controls, and escalating significant unresolved risks.

  • Act as the Quality interface for selected customer/product accounts, including complaints, escalations, repairs/returns and corrective-action communication.

  • Support Operations, Service, Supplier Quality and Industrialization when significant product-quality issues require development knowledge, structured problem solving or cross-functional coordination.

  • Identify and drive structural quality improvements across products and projects, and coach teams in quality methods and a prevention-oriented mindset.
