What we're looking for

You have extensive experience as a full-stack developer and are able to pick up and complete projects independently;
You have extensive experience with Rails and React and are quick to get up to speed with new code;
You have a passion for delivering quality and for the good code that underpins it;
You are familiar with technologies such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, ClickHouse, RSpec, Docker, REST, and GraphQL;
You have an excellent command of the Dutch language (spoken and written) and live in the north of the country;
Are you available for at least 32 hours per week.

Pay & benefits

What you'll get

Salary indication € 5,500 to € 7,000 per month based on 40 hours, depending on your experience;
27.5 vacation days and a good pension scheme (80/20);

The role

In this role, you will work on a state-of-the-art Ruby on Rails SaaS application, with plenty of challenges regarding quality, performance, and interoperability.

What you'll do

You will work independently on diverse projects for our applications.
You review the code of your colleagues to achieve quality improvements. Additionally, you develop a shared vision on how code should be written together with your colleagues.
Together with other developers, you work on implementing improvements to our platform and preventing bugs through front-end and back-end refactors.
Every two weeks, you work one day together with the service desk on solving small but urgent problems and translating requested improvements into code changes.

About the company & team

Payt has become a market leader in the Benelux in the field of accounts receivable management software in a short time and continues to grow rapidly. Our ambition and drive are enormous; 25,000 customers by the year 2030 spread across the Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Ireland, and France. With a team of 50 employees, aged 21-55, we work on this daily with full passion. Currently, we are onboarding about 80 new customers per month in various industries such as automotive, education, and healthcare.

Payt is growing, and so is our development team. The current team consists of 18 developers. Within the team, everyone has a lot of responsibility and we switch gears quickly. Delivering high-quality work is the most important thing to us; we achieve this through good code reviews and an extensive test suite. Our Ruby on Rails back-end sits behind a React.js front-end and is built on PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, and Redis, with hosting via AWS. We develop almost everything in-house and we also do the design ourselves.

Currently, Payt has three offices: Groningen, Wormerveer, and Jávea (Spain). For this position, the location is Groningen. Our office is situated in a beautiful location in the center at Waagstraat 4. This is within walking distance of the central station, with its own parking lot nearby and a covered bicycle storage facility.
