Devops Engineer

In this role, you will work on the complete platform of a state-of-the-art Ruby on Rails SaaS application, with plenty of challenges regarding quality, performance, and interoperability.

Payt has become a market leader in the Benelux in the field of accounts receivable management software in a short time and continues to grow rapidly. Our ambition and drive are enormous; 25,000 customers in the year 2030 spread across the Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Ireland, and France. With a team of 50 employees, aged 21-55, we work on this daily with full passion. Currently, we onboard about 80 new customers per month in various industries such as automotive, education, and healthcare.

Payt is growing, and so is our development team. The current team consists of 18 developers. Within the team, everyone has a lot of responsibility and we switch gears quickly. Delivering high-quality work is the most important thing to us; we achieve this through good code reviews and an extensive test suite. Our Ruby on Rails back-end sits behind a React.js front-end and is built on PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, and Redis, with hosting via AWS. We develop almost everything in-house and we also do the design ourselves.

Currently, Payt has three offices: Groningen, Wormerveer, and Jávea (Spain). For this position, the location is Groningen. Our office is situated in a beautiful location in the center at Waagstraat 4. This is within walking distance of the central station, with its own parking lot nearby and a covered bicycle storage facility.

• We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who has extensive knowledge of Terraform and AWS;

• Knowledge of containerization in AWS is desired;

• Knowledge of PSQL, Redis, ClickHouse, Elasticsearch, and multi-region setups is a plus;

• You work independently on diverse projects;

• Together with your colleagues, you develop a shared vision and a plan for how the entire infrastructure should look in the future.

• You have experience as a DevOps Engineer and are able to pick up and complete projects independently;

• You have a passion for delivering quality and improving the maintainability of systems;

• Your familiarity with technologies such as SSO, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Kamal Deploy, RSpec, Docker, REST, and GraphQL is a plus;

• You have an excellent command of the Dutch language (spoken and written) and live in the north of the country;

• You are available for at least 32 hours per week.

• Salary indication € 5,500 to € 7,000 per month based on 40 hours, depending on your experience;

• 27.5 vacation days and a good pension scheme (80/20);

• The possibility to become a shareholder of Payt after 1 year;

• A public transport card and/or a travel allowance;
