The role
As Manager Operations, you are responsible for our daily production; it is a shopfloor-oriented role. In doing so, you focus on the daily objectives regarding safety, quality, people management, and optimal planning. An important aspect is that you, together with your team, ensure that the required output is achieved. You also ensure that your team is trained to operate the lines, perform changeovers, and execute the TIER process.
The Manager Operations reports to the Associate Director Operations. Production takes place in 3-shift service.
What you'll do
- You lead approximately 10-12 Operators and make an active contribution to their further personal development.
- You initiate and manage your improvement projects in the areas of technology, quality, and safety using MPS methodologies.
- You oversee that quality procedures and guidelines are followed according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and that your team members always work safely.
- You work together with specialists in the fields of improvement, engineering, quality, and EHS.
- You are responsible for realizing production and cost objectives without making concessions to the safety and quality of the product.

About the company & team
We have three production departments in Haarlem and, per department—Vaccines, Blister, and Specialties—there are packaging lines that are very diverse in terms of operation and technology. These are used to package all components and medicines and provide them with leaflets up to the final product that everyone knows from the pharmacy. Together with your fellow managers, you are responsible for 10 to 12 packaging lines with a total of approximately 35 Operators.
