ROLE SUMMARY Project Controller € 4,200.00 - € 6,000.00 gross per month (depending on experience) Location: Schiedam, Netherlands Look beyond the numbers. Understand the project behind them. At Mammoet, we are looking for a Project Controller who combines strong analytical skills with curiosity about how complex projects work. As a Project Controller within Europe Projects, you will be involved throughout the entire lifecycle of a project, from kick-off to completion. You will be financially responsible for your own project portfolio and will work closely with Project Managers and stakeholders within Operations, Sales, and Finance. Your role goes beyond reporting what happened last month. You will analyze which factors influence project performance, challenge forecasts and assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and translate operational and commercial developments into their financial impact. Our projects are complex, international, and tangible. Within the energy, offshore, renewable energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors, Mammoet delivers innovative solutions for lifting, transporting, and installing some of the largest and most complex structures and components in the world. As a Project Controller, you will get the chance to look beyond the numbers, gain insight into the operation behind them, and see how your analyses contribute to the successful realization of projects in practice. WHAT YOU WILL DO Bear responsibility for the financial control of your project portfolio. Monitor and analyze project costs, revenue, margins, cash flow, and other key financial indicators. Prepare and review project budgets and forecasts together with Project Managers. Analyze project performance and gain insight into the operational and commercial causes of financial variances. Act as a financial sparring partner for Project Managers and other stakeholders by critically reviewing assumptions and supporting decision-making. Identify, quantify, and monitor risks and opportunities within projects and make their impact on financial results and forecasts transparent. Assess the financial impact of project developments, changes, and other commercial issues. Ensure reliable financial project information and investigate and resolve variances. Actively participate in project kick-offs, periodic project reviews, and project closures. Contribute to the further professionalization of Project Control by implementing improvements in forecasting, reporting, processes, and data analysis. Support internal and external audits. Visit project and operational sites to gain a better understanding of the activities behind the financial results. WHAT YOU NEED A strong Project Controller does not stop at: "The project margin has decreased." You want to understand: "Why has this decreased? What has changed operationally? Is the current forecast still realistic? What risks or opportunities are we not seeing yet? And what should we do about it?" In addition, you possess: A completed HBO or WO degree in Finance, Business Economics, Business Administration, or a similar field. 2 to 5 years of experience in Project Control, Business Control, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Control, or another analytical role. Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex information. A proactive attitude and the willingness to take ownership. The confidence to challenge assumptions, forecasts, and variances in a constructive manner. The ability to switch effortlessly between financial details and the bigger picture. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders from different disciplines and cultures. Interest in projects, technology, and/or operational environments and curiosity about the execution of our projects. Excellent Excel skills. Experience with SAP, Power BI, or similar systems is a plus. Professional command of the English language. Dutch is an advantage, but not a requirement. Do you recognize yourself in this and do you get excited about converting project complexity into insight and impact? Then we would love to meet you. WHAT YOU GET A competitive gross monthly salary. Excellent secondary employment benefits. The opportunity to work on complex and internationally recognized Mammoet projects. A role at the intersection of Finance, Project Management, Sales, and Operations. A Project Control team in which collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement are central. Insight into both the financial and operational sides of our projects, including the possibility to visit project and operational sites. Plenty of opportunities to further develop yourself in the areas of project finance, forecasting, risk management, and commercial insight. Growth opportunities within Project Control and broader career opportunities within Mammoet, matching your talents, interests, and ambitions. The chance to actively contribute to the further professionalization of Project Control within Mammoet Europe Projects. WANT TO KNOW MORE?
