The role

Do you have a sharp eye for expansion opportunities and are you a born networker? As a real estate acquirer/project developer at Lidl, you play a crucial role in the expansion and optimization of our store portfolio in the Netherlands. With our successful projects, we are not only building supermarkets, but we are also developing homes and additional facilities. Do you want to help Lidl grow and make an impact in this dynamic region? Then read on quickly!

As a real estate acquirer/project developer, you are part of the Construction & Real Estate team, based at our regional office in Waddinxveen. A dynamic team where collaboration is a priority both regionally and nationally. The regional team consists of colleagues specialized in acquisition, project management, construction, and asset management, and is collectively responsible for the Lidl branches (real estate). All disciplines interact with one another, so good cooperation and atmosphere are important. Decision-making lines are short and contact with management is low-threshold.

What you'll do

In the department, we work daily on the expansion and optimization of our store portfolio. Growth and optimization are central. We are responsible for the entire lifecycle of our stores: from acquisition, to development, from expansion and/or modernization to relocation.

As a real estate acquirer/project developer, you are responsible for:

  • Acquiring premises for our new Lidl branches and all modernization, expansion, and/or relocation projects of existing branches, within your working area.
  • Identifying new and better locations for our stores. And you know how to find those locations by thinking out of the box.
  • Networking with stakeholders. Local authorities, project developers, (commercial) real estate agents, and (end) investors; you know them and they know you. As soon as new opportunities arise, you are informed and have already established the necessary contacts.
  • Conducting feasibility analyses, securing negotiation results, reporting, and contracting also pose little to no secrets to you.
  • Guiding project development and tender processes.
  • Amending zoning plans and obtaining (environmental) permits for the purpose of expansion or relocation of Lidl supermarkets.
