Network Engineer

You are analytically strong, work in a structured manner, and feel at home in environments where quality, stability, and collaboration are central. You can switch between technical work and consultation and know how to keep complex situations manageable.

In addition, you possess:

• HBO or WO level of work and thinking

• Sound knowledge of network technologies and protocols (including routing & switching)

• Experience with enterprise network environments

• Experience with monitoring and management tools (e.g., Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds, NETbox)

• Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, change, and problem management)

• Experience working in standardized environments

• Good communication skills in Dutch (required) and English

• Cisco (IOS / NX-OS) and/or

• Juniper (Junos)

• (Preferred) Fortinet or other enterprise vendors

• Cisco: CCNA / CCNP / CCIE

• Juniper: JNCIS / JNCIP / JNCIE

• ITIL Foundation (preferred)

• Experience with automation (e.g., Ansible, templates)

• Experience with large or complex networks (e.g., government, telecom, enterprise)

As a Network Engineer, you will work on the design, realization, and management of complex network infrastructures for clients in sectors such as government, telecom, and enterprise environments.

Within this role, different focuses are possible: some engineers work more often on project-based activities such as design and implementation, while others focus more on management, stability, and continuity. Depending on your knowledge, experience, and ambition, we will determine your focus together—and this can also shift over time.

Your duties include:

• Designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructures

• Working on improvements, expansions, and renewals of existing networks

• Executing and preparing changes, including technical runbooks

• Resolving incidents and structural problems in complex environments

• Monitoring and optimizing performance, availability, and reliability

• Collaborating with project managers, security engineers, and management teams

• Documenting and securing solutions and configurations

• Performing on-call and maintenance duties outside of office hours
