The role
What you'll do
No two days are the same. One day you are coordinating the receipt of dozens of containers, the next day you ensure that a major promotional campaign is available in our stores on time. You maintain an overview of all incoming goods flows and the capacity within the distribution center. Together with colleagues from the head office, the distribution center, carriers, and suppliers, you ensure that products are available at the right moment. You look ahead and monitor both short-term and long-term planning. You plan all incoming goods flows via truck, ship, and aircraft and ensure that these align with the available capacity. In doing so, you take into account storage space, staffing levels, transport planning, and commercial priorities. Additionally, you play an important role in the preparation of major promotions and seasonal campaigns. You translate commercial plans into a feasible logistical plan and ensure that products are available on time. You are also responsible for internal goods movements between different storage locations. In this way, you ensure that the distribution center can continue to operate efficiently. When plans change due to delays, early deliveries, or unexpected demand, you react quickly. You set priorities, adjust course, and work together with all involved parties to find a suitable solution. Data plays an important role here. Using Excel and other planning systems, you analyze volumes, stocks, and capacity requirements. Based on these insights, you make decisions and propose improvements.
