Senior Logistics Consultant

• A completed Master's degree in, for example, (Technical) Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics Management, or a similar field of study;
• 3-6 years of experience in logistics / supply chain management or consultancy, preferably in a role where you have improved supply chain logistics, transport, warehousing, or spare parts management;
• Experience with process and performance improvement (for example, Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) and the use of data/analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar);
• You hold Dutch nationality (required for some of our clients) and are fluent in the Dutch language. Additionally, you have a good command of the English language, both spoken and written;
• You are a strong communicator, know how to bring people along in change processes, and can switch effectively between content, process, and stakeholder management;
• You are result-oriented, work in a structured manner, and feel responsible for actually realizing impact for the client;

• Affinity with or experience in the (semi)public sector (such as Defense, Rijkswaterstaat, ProRail, infra, or other executive organizations) is a strong advantage; direct experience with/for Defense is a major plus;
• Knowledge of military or Defense logistics (equipment management, ammunition logistics, maintenance) is a plus.

Organizations in industries such as manufacturing, consumer goods, high-tech, pharma, and the (semi)public sector are under pressure to make their logistics chains more robust, efficient, and agile. Inventory positions are becoming more strategic, customer expectations are rising, and supply chain disruptions are part of daily life. As a Senior Logistics Consultant, you help these organizations organize their supply chain logistics, inventory management, transport, and warehousing more intelligently. You work on challenges ranging from strategic inventory strategy and spare parts management to depot logistics and transport networks. In this way, you help build logistics chains that are robust, digital, and future-proof.

Your new job | About your key responsibilities

As a Senior Logistics Consultant:

• You analyze end-to-end logistics chains and translate strategic objectives (e.g., higher material readiness, shorter lead times, higher service levels) into concrete improvement initiatives in the chain;
• You work on challenges such as optimizing inventory management and spare parts (spare parts, service parts, strategic stocks);
• You redesign warehouse processes (layout, processes, WMS, capacity planning);
• You improve transport and distribution networks (planning, routing, network design);
• You shorten lead times across the entire chain, including repairable parts and return flows;
• You set up KPIs and dashboards for chain performance (availability, lead time, costs);
• You perform data analyses on inventories, lead times, transport flows, and workload, and translate your insights into clear recommendations;
• You act as a link between operations and management: you speak both the language of the warehouse worker and that of the Supply Chain Director;
• You guide teams in the implementation of new ways of working, process improvements, and potentially new (digital) solutions;
• You contribute to proposals, practical development, and thought leadership within the logistics domain.

You will join the Supply Chain & Operations team within Consulting. We work on strategic and tactical improvement programs at the intersection of logistics, operations, and digitalization. We combine:

• In-depth knowledge of logistics & supply chain (transport, warehousing, spare parts, MRO);
• Experience with industry and (semi)public organizations;
• Proven improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile;
• The pragmatism to ensure advice is actually implemented.
