The role
What you'll do
As a security guard, you ensure a sense of safety for visitors and your colleagues. Together with the security team, you handle the control and security of buildings, persons, and goods. You are visibly present and, as a host/hostess, approachable for the customer. All this in an assertive/clear, but above all customer-friendly manner. You provide customers with information about practical matters in the store upon request and register visitors if necessary.
You carry out surveillance rounds and respond to incoming reports and/or calls from your colleagues via the walkie-talkie. From the sensor room/control room, you assess (in rotating shifts) various situations. Upon detecting a theft or an attempt to commit one, you and the team know how to act and ensure that a report is filed. You do this in consultation with the team leader and the police. As a security guard, you also carry out internal and external fraud investigations.
In addition to preventing theft and embezzlement, you are also aware of the company emergency plan and know how to provide first aid in the event of a calamity. As a security guard, you are also part of the BHV (Emergency Response) team and, where necessary, have contact with emergency services. You also ensure compliance with (fire) safety regulations and ARBO (occupational health and safety) guidelines. Naturally, this includes ensuring that the corresponding reports are in order.
Finally, you monitor and escort money and valuables transports according to established procedures.
