What we're looking for

You are an experienced brand manager with a clear vision on brand building in an omnichannel environment. You switch convincingly between strategy and execution. You know how to connect creativity and commerce. You are collaboration-oriented, take initiative, and feel responsible for both brand results and team development.

Furthermore, you bring:

  • University-level (WO) working and thinking level.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrable experience with developing and implementing brand strategy, integrated campaigns, and annual plans.
  • Experience with leadership and coaching, developing, and connecting professionals.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills
  • A persuasive communication style and the ability to create support at a senior level within a cross-functional organization.

The role

As Brand Manager, you provide direction to the development and execution of De Bijenkorf's brand strategy. You are a strategic and inspiring leader who translates the organizational strategy into sharp brand policy, clear annual plans, and distinctive campaigns. In doing so, you increase brand consideration, customer engagement, and the quality of the total brand experience. You combine vision, creativity, and analytical ability. You make sharp choices regarding campaign concepts, themes, and messages, safeguard the brand passport, and ensure that every expression—from large-scale brand campaigns to social collaborations, PR moments, events, or internal communication—contributes recognizably to one consistent brand experience. In this senior role, you report to the Head of Marketing and directly manage the Brand Team. You stimulate their development, strengthen collaboration within the team, and create the conditions to collectively achieve excellent results. You work intensively with, among others, Performance Marketing, Trade Marketing, Commercial, Stores, and Visual. Based on market insights, customer needs, and marketing mix models, you develop omnichannel communication strategies that increase both the visibility and effectiveness of the brand. Additionally, you manage the 'awareness budget' and ensure an optimal deployment of resources, channels, and media.

What you'll do

  • You develop the brand vision and strategy based on the organizational objectives and translate these into brand policy, annual plans, campaigns, and measurable goals.
  • You provide direct leadership to the brand team, coach team members in their professional and personal development, and build an engaged, result-oriented, and high-performing team.
  • Together with relevant stakeholders, you determine the direction of campaign concepts, themes, messages, and creative executions within the framework of the brand passport.
  • You safeguard the consistent translation of the brand strategy across all touchpoints: campaigns, creation, social media, PR, events, internal communication, and assets.
  • You analyze the effectiveness of messaging, creation, media, and campaigns and convert insights into targeted optimizations.
  • You manage the awareness budget and ensure an effective distribution of resources across the right target groups, channels, and moments.
  • You are a visible role model for the culture and values of De Bijenkorf and convey the brand strategy clearly and convincingly within the organization.
