The role
What will you do?
As an Accountmanager, you are the first point of contact for one or more institutional clients of Bouwinvest. You know your clients, understand their interests, and ensure that they have the right information at the right time.
You move in the world of institutional investors, asset management and real estate investments. As a result, you understand not only the question a client asks, but also the context behind it. You handle general and cross-fund questions independently. When it comes to substantive issues, wherever possible you formulate an answer yourself and involve the right specialists for further depth and review.
You work closely with Fund Managers, Mandate Directors, Capital Markets, and colleagues from Research, Reporting, Legal, and Control, among others. In doing so, you safeguard the coherence in our client service. You ensure that agreements are met, information is consistent, and actions do not get lost between different teams.
You also organize and coordinate client meetings and evaluations and are, independently or together with a colleague, present at our clients' meetings when requested. You identify deviations and risks in client, fund, and mandate agreements and ensure that these are acted upon in a timely manner.
At the same time, you look ahead. Which developments are playing out among our clients? Where are their needs changing? And what opportunities does that offer for Bouwinvest? You bring the voice of the client into the organization and, together with colleagues, translate signals into improvements in our service provision, client retention, and possible new propositions.
An institutional client asks a question about the development of various real estate funds and wants to know what this means for their total portfolio. The information is held by multiple teams within Bouwinvest. What do you do?
First, you clearly map out exactly what the client wants to know and which interests are behind the question. Subsequently, you collect the relevant information from the involved Fund Managers and specialists.
You draw connections between the different answers, identify any inconsistencies, and ensure one clear and coherent story towards the client. Where possible, you formulate the answer yourself and have the substantive parts reviewed by the right colleagues.
With this, you ensure not only a good answer, but also a client who experiences that Bouwinvest works for them as one single organization.
What makes this position special?
In this role, you are more than just the point of contact for a client. You are located precisely at the intersection between the client, investments, and the various specialists within Bouwinvest.
This requires substantive expertise. You must understand how institutional investors view real estate, funds, and mandates and have sufficient knowledge to conduct a substantive conversation. At the same time, you do not need to be the specialist on every subject yourself. Your strength lies precisely in understanding the question, connecting the right expertise, and safeguarding the total client interest.
In addition, you are given plenty of room for your own initiative. You do not only react to questions, but you also identify for yourself what is happening with clients and in the market. You recognize opportunities to further develop the relationship and actively bring the client's perspective into the development of our service provision.
In doing so, you build relationships for the long term and help Bouwinvest to increasingly better understand what institutional clients need from us.
"You understand what is driving a client's question, connect the right expertise, and ensure that our service provision is experienced as a single whole."
Requirements
University (WO) level of thinking and working.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in real estate, investment management, institutional asset management, or a financial environment.
Experience with account management and institutional clients.
Good knowledge of investment products, funds, and/or mandates.
You understand complex client questions and engage the right expertise.
You are analytical, well-organized, and maintain an overview.
You communicate persuasively and switch easily between different levels.
You have a commercial mindset and recognize opportunities for client retention and the expansion of our service provision.
About Bouwinvest
In their own words
About the company & team
You are part of Client Services and report to the Director Client Services. The team also consists of another account manager, a Manager Client Services, and a Client Services Specialist. We are ambitious in further professionalizing client service, strengthening client relationships, and increasing client satisfaction. At the same time, there is an open and collegial working atmosphere in which we know how to find each other easily and strive together for the best result for our clients.
In doing so, you work intensively with Fund Managers and Mandate Directors, who have their own substantive responsibilities towards clients. Additionally, you interact frequently with Capital Markets, Research, Reporting, Legal, Control, and other specialists within Bouwinvest.
Externally, you have contact with institutional investors and their fiduciary advisors. You consciously build a broad network among your clients, so that the relationship is not dependent on a single contact person and you understand well what is happening within the client's organization.
We work professionally and carefully, but we seek each other out easily. Precisely because client questions often touch multiple parts of Bouwinvest, collaboration, ownership, and keeping each other sharp are essential.
We work in a pleasant manner with a number of preferred suppliers. Therefore, acquisition by recruitment and selection, staffing, or temporary employment agencies is not appreciated.
