Proposal Manager

The role of Proposal Manager is evolving rapidly. Where the focus used to lie more often on writing texts yourself, today it revolves increasingly around strategy, stakeholder management, influencing, and the smart use of technology. You are the director who brings people, content, and processes together to develop distinctive proposals.

You are involved from start to finish in complex tender processes and (European) procurement procedures. You analyze client requests, opportunities, risks, and evaluation criteria and, together with the team, translate these into a clear win strategy, planning, and approach. You organize kick-offs and reviews, monitor quality, compliance, and deadlines, and keep team members focused on agreed-upon commitments.

Additionally, you help subject matter experts translate their knowledge into a persuasive client story. You review contributions for relevance, structure, evidence, and added value for the client. In doing so, you make use of modern AI-supported tools for analysis, content development, knowledge management, and quality improvement.

You also guide client presentations and interviews and influence partners, managers, and specialists to achieve the best possible result together. You are a critical sparring partner, provide structure, ask the right questions, and ensure that commercial opportunities are utilized to the maximum.

Within BDO, you work closely with partners, subject matter experts, sales, marketing, and design. With your advisory skills, organizational sensitivity, and decisiveness, you are a strategic advisor and process director who makes the difference in complex proposal and procurement processes. You will do this within our Marketing Communication & Sales team.

• a higher professional (HBO) or academic (WO) level of working and thinking.
• relevant experience in directing proposal or procurement processes.
