The role

Are you a connector who seeks out collaboration with professionals from different organizations? And are you an energetic and positive personality who enjoys working independently?

We are looking for a Participation Officer at B&A Civic in Amsterdam Southeast immediately!

What you'll do

As a Participation Officer, the focus of your activities lies on stimulating participation and activation. Your goal is to, together with residents, uncover their drive and talents and look at where these can best be utilized. Your home base is Civic Amsterdam. In your role, you are often on the road and work from various locations in Amsterdam.

As a Participation Officer, you conduct broad intakes with people who sign up for guidance and organize various activities in the neighborhood. You assist in finding (volunteer) work and advise people when they experience barriers on their path to participation. In addition to this one-on-one guidance, you also activate and inspire others in a group setting. By organizing activities and information sessions, you know how to reach different target groups. Your strength lies in bringing people together in the neighborhood, and you put this into practice through creative solutions and initiatives. Additionally, you know what is happening in the neighborhood and you know the right channels to get things done. You can think along on various living domains and have knowledge of the social work field. In your guidance, you are motivating yet realistic, you ask follow-up questions, you assume the resident's own strength, and you stimulate self-reliance. You provide information to groups about the offerings of Civic Amsterdam and think together with your colleagues about new training sessions that fit current events and demand. You have an affinity with social media and enjoy bringing the offerings to attention online.

What are we looking for in you?

An energetic and positively minded colleague. As the face of Civic, you switch naturally between the various participants, but also with professionals and chain partners. You enjoy bringing out the best in people.

Furthermore:

  • you have demonstrable HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level;
  • you have relevant work experience;
  • you are a doer with analytical skills;
  • you have energy and a positive mindset;
  • you are flexible and not afraid of innovation or change;
  • you can switch between different levels and with different people;
  • it is a plus if you have knowledge of (the social map of) Amsterdam;
  • you work independently and bring creativity and entrepreneurship;
  • preferably you are available immediately for 24-32 hours per week.
