You will fulfill the role of debt counselor at the Buurtteam Amsterdam Zuidoost, part of B&A. You will work as a debt counselor in an accessible, appropriate, sustainable, and cost-effective location where Amsterdammers can go with all their questions regarding care, housing, health, work, money, socializing, or safety. A place where they are primarily helped well and without hassle. You will be surrounded by specialists, work integrally, and connect with the individual questions and needs of the Amsterdammers.

As a debt counselor, you guide your own group of clients toward their own, appropriate solution for their debts. Within this role, you conduct a wide range of conversations, varying from intakes and advice to guidance during debt restructuring. You employ a coaching style when contacting clients, adopting an understanding attitude while simultaneously maintaining a clear professional distance. In contacts with creditors and other organizations, you have a business-like communication style. You record agreements made in a clear manner and monitor progress. You enjoy looking at established patterns in an alternative way. You are up to date on laws and regulations and know how to apply this knowledge to practice in a surprising way. You can identify with trying out and testing new ideas and methodologies, and you like to be part of our team to shape the future of the field together.

• Salary: a gross basic salary scale 8 according to CAO-Sociaal Werk with a favorable travel allowance, pension, and health insurance scheme. Additionally, you receive an Individual Choice Budget (including an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%), with which you earn extra money or purchase leave.
