The role

Since 1926, Aviko Rixona has been firmly rooted in Dutch soil, and we feel those roots every single day. From our facility in Oostrum, we have grown into one of the world market leaders in potato flakes and granules. One ambition drives us: to harness the full potential of the potato and convert it into valuable solutions.

And you play a crucial role in that.

As Lead Engineer OT, you are the driving force behind the development of our OT landscape. You operate at the intersection of technology and organization, not as an executing engineer, but as the director who realizes projects, connects stakeholders, and translates technical choices into supported solutions. You report directly to the COO.

You work across three production sites and actively seek collaboration within Aviko and the broader Cosun organization regarding OT standardization. That is the scale at which you operate here. Aviko Rixona is part of Aviko, and Aviko is part of Royal Cosun: an organization with global scale and yet the down-to-earth nature and involvement of local roots.

What you'll do

In this role, you hold ultimate responsibility for Operational Technology (OT) and play a key role in the further development and standardization of the OT landscape across multiple locations. You are responsible for the following areas:

  • Contributing to the standardization and harmonization of OT and automation solutions
  • Initiating and guiding improvements in systems, processes, and working methods
  • Collaborating with Aviko and Cosun on joint OT solutions across the three factories
  • End-to-end responsibility for technical projects within OT
  • Drafting and realizing project plans: scope, planning, and budget
  • Managing your team (Technical Project Engineer and IT Specialist) and external partners
  • Monitoring progress, quality, safety, and costs, and ensuring safeguarding and transfer to operations and technical services
  • Liaising between operations, technology, IT/OT, and external partners
  • Actively building collaboration between the three production sites
  • Aligning with internal and external stakeholders, including sister organizations
  • Translating technical choices into understandable and supported solutions
  • Assessing technical designs and solutions
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and advising on investments
  • Ensuring that choices are technically and economically sound

Functie-eisen

Whether you are growing from a technical role into project direction, or already have experience as a technical project manager in an industrial environment, in both cases you will recognize yourself in the following:

  • HBO/WO (Higher Professional/Academic) working and thinking level in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or similar
  • Extensive experience with technical projects in an industrial environment
  • Knowledge of OT (PLC, SCADA, MES) in which you can program
  • Experience with stakeholder management in complex organizations; multi-site experience is a plus
  • You connect and influence positively; you get people on board
  • Strong project-based skills: structured, result-oriented, and decisive
  • You switch effortlessly between strategy and execution
  • Decisive in complex situations with many autonomous players
