The role
Abbott Biologicals in Olst is globally responsible for the filling of Lactulose, the production of hormone preparations, and the formulation of Mebeverine. Additionally, the influenza vaccine Influvac® is filled at this location and contract manufacturing takes place. For these products, Abbott Biologicals in Olst serves as the center of excellence.

Where will you work?
The QC Oral Products Laboratory is part of the Quality Control department and is responsible for the analysis and release of the Oral products produced in Olst. In addition to the Oral Products Laboratory, the Quality Control department also consists of a Sterile products Laboratory, an Incoming goods Laboratory, and a Support group.
What will you do as a Chemical Analyst?
As a Chemical Analyst, you will focus on supporting the analysis of samples of our oral products. You will perform activities in accordance with guidelines from our quality system, so that product and process quality meets quality and safety requirements.
What will your tasks and responsibilities be?
Supporting the execution of release analyses of Oral products; HPLC, dissolution, UV/VIS.
Reviewing analytical results and investigating deviations.
Guiding analysts.
Timely completion of (equipment) maintenance and qualification activities.
Keeping the laboratory inventory management up to date.
You perform the validation of (new) methods and techniques.
You lead departmental projects, or participate in cross-departmental projects aimed at representing the QC department and, where necessary, seeking consultation with other departments within Abbott Olst.
You are actively involved during audits and inspections.
Identifying bottlenecks and thinking along about improvement plans regarding the activities within QC.
Providing a contribution to the improvement of procedures and protocols within the laboratory
What knowledge and experience do you bring?
You have at least a Higher Professional Education (HBO) Laboratory degree (HLO), a chemical direction is a plus;
Experience with the HPLC analytical technique and dissolution is a plus;
Preferably, you have experience within the pharmaceutical industry and are familiar with GMP;
You are available to work on weekends (on average 1 Saturday every 5 weeks);
You possess a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written;
You are available full time (40 hours).
