As a Senior Project Manager Engineering, you are responsible for executing multidisciplinary technological projects within the production site in Zwolle. You are the sparring partner for various clients/steering groups within or outside Zwolle and you come up with new, innovative ideas to make production more efficient or to implement new developments and technologies. To achieve this, you bring together the right disciplines (e.g., operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, logistics, procurement) in a project team and ensure a clear translation into a project scope, plan of approach, timelines, and budget. During the execution of the project, you ensure an effective project organization and good coordination of technical disciplines and all other activities, and you ensure clear decision points with the client or steering group.

Senior Project Manager reports to the Team Manager Engineering. The Engineering department is part of the Engineering & Maintenance department. The Engineering team consists of a total of 7 Abbott employees and 19 contractors, depending on ongoing projects.

· Creating project plans, schedules, and cost estimates for basic and/or detail engineering, procurement, and construction.

· Establishing the program of requirements ('scope of work')

· Conducting feasibility studies and proposing alternatives

· Providing information for the preparation and justification of budget requests

· Reaching agreement with the client

· Creating basic designs, detailed designs, schedules, and cost estimates for production equipment, technical installations, instrumentation systems, buildings, or infrastructure (depending on technical discipline)

· Co-selection of the contractor(s) for engineering, procurement, expediting, and construction in close cooperation with project group members, Technology and Procurement, and other stakeholders

· Supervising the (engineering) contractor during the construction phase

· Coordination and organization of the commissioning & qualification of installations

· Managing the qualification and validation process with all technical disciplines (validation, QA, Operations, PE).

· Leading the delivery of all required production documentation.

· Handing over the installation to operations

· Coordination of all activities required for changes

· Monitoring and managing projects with regard to safety, quality, time, and budget.

· Managing projects from a gate structure with the correct documentation & progress reports

· As project manager, bringing together the right disciplines (e.g., operations, maintenance, engineering, logistics, procurement) in a project team and ensuring a clear translation into a project scope, plan of approach, timelines, and budget.

· Leading multidisciplinary projects, operational management of project groups with the participation of, among others, technologists, engineers, construction leaders, Procurement, QA, and contractors.

· Implementing training programs for operators, technicians & engineers related to the project

· Project scope from €0.1 million to €20 million

· Lead time up to 6 months - 3 years

· 4 to 10 project members (internal and external)

· HBO/WO in Mechanical Engineering, Process Technology, Chemical Technology, or Food Technology;

· Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in a production environment

· Demonstrable knowledge of process technology (preferably in the

pharmaceutical or food industry);

· Experience with project management and portfolio management;

· Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written.
