Startup Ecosystem Builder [Program Manager]

We seek a fast learner, eager to deepen their knowledge and understanding of VC4A's business operations. We expect the Program Manager to apply a sales mentality and think strategically about growing revenue quarter over quarter. Outstanding business sense, problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills are essential.

• Superior leadership skills and previous management experience;
• Superior verbal and written communication abilities;
• Strong planning, time management, and organizational skills;
• Experience managing teams, human resources, and team development;
• Proven experience developing customer relationships and fostering growth
• Good knowledge of MS Office packages, particularly Excel;
• Degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or a related field and/or demonstrated strength in such disciplines;
• 3-7 Years' experience in an operations role or relevant work history;
• High attention to detail.

This position requires a sharp attention to detail, impeccable professionalism, strong leadership skills as well as a passionate sales mentality. A deep understanding of Online Platforms, the African startup ecosystem, and Entrepreneurship Development is imperative and will enable the Consultant [Team Lead] to be a trusted advisor to our clients as well as a successful leader of the VC4A team.

As a Program Manager, you are directly working with the VC4A.com community of entrepreneurs, program organizers, mentors, investors, and anyone who is bringing value to the ecosystem. The following skills and experience are expected to be demonstrated:

• Develop expertise in all aspects of the organization, define the roles and responsibilities on project basis, own the planning and budgeting, and aggressively manage and report on performance;
• Ensure that all operational processes are tactically structured, efficiently executed and correctly implemented across the entire organization;
• Work with the team to assign proper resources to best capitalize on team strengths and overall operating efficiency;
• Provide daily people management of team and serves as point of escalation for all team items or issues;
• Work with team members to ensure that clients, both internal and external, are being serviced and managed successfully;
• Cultivate client relationships with key decision makers, serve as escalation point on all client issues, and represent the organization externally;
• Enforce established best practices, develop top talent within the VC4A team, and support the learning and training of the team;
• Help identify new talent to scale the team as needed. Coordinate and lead hiring efforts (interviews, career fairs, case competitions, etc.);
• Aid in all operational duties as needed;
• Advise senior management on the implementation strategy.

We work in remote teams in similar time zones and actively communicate via Slack. We have weekly team meetings to sync with one another about what has happened in the prior week and plan the coming one. We keep each other updated, provide feedback, and support one another at any time. If you are based in Amsterdam, you are welcome to work at our office (depending on COVID circumstances).
