What we're looking for

HBO or WO working and thinking level, preferably in computer science, software engineering, or a similar field.
Extensive experience as a Software Engineer and the ability to independently tackle complex technical issues.
Extensive knowledge of and experience with .NET and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience in designing and building scalable and maintainable software solutions.
Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Knowledge of modern software development principles and techniques such as Domain Driven Design, Test Driven Development, Continuous Delivery/Deployment, microservices, and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
The ability to explain technical choices clearly and bring other Software Engineers along with you.
You enjoy sharing knowledge and mentoring junior and medior colleagues in their development.
Good communication skills and a good command of the Dutch language.
An independent, curious, and proactive attitude. You look beyond your own code and see where technology, collaboration, or processes can be improved.

The role

Step in as a Senior Software Engineer in a world where digitalization never stands still. Where financial processes are becoming smarter, faster, and more efficient, and where you, with your technical expertise, make the difference for banks, insurers, and other major players in the financial sector.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer, you build the smart digital customer journeys of tomorrow. You work on complex software platforms, contribute to technical choices, and ensure that solutions not only work today but are also ready for the future.

You hold an important technical role within the team. You oversee complex issues, safeguard the quality of our software, and help colleagues further their development. In doing so, you work closely with, among others, Software Engineers, Product Owners, and other disciplines.

Design, develop, and maintain software platforms that align with the systems and processes of our clients within mortgages, insurance, and pensions.
Translate complex functional issues into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
Make technical choices and contribute to thinking about architecture, quality, performance, and security.
Work with modern technologies such as Kubernetes, microservices, distributed systems, and Azure.
Mentor junior and medior Software Engineers and help them grow by sharing knowledge, providing feedback, and solving technical issues together.
Estimate the complexity and impact of technical tasks and help the team make realistic choices and plans.
Collaborate with the Product Owner to determine and monitor functional and non-functional requirements.
Coordinate where necessary with other teams, clients, and external parties.
Follow new technological developments and translate relevant advancements into improvements within our software and way of working.
