Business Analyst – FEC Screening Systems (Sanction Detection)

• At least 2.5 years of relevant work experience as a business analyst, preferably in the financial sector
• Experience with Sanction Screening or broader FEC domains is highly desirable (but not a must)
• Familiarity with risk and compliance architecture, including tools such as Inform RiskShield, Python, Databricks
• Affinity with data analysis: able to perform data lineage analyses, quality assessments, and privacy reviews
• Experience with model testing, risk standards, and reporting to regulators
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders such as Compliance, IT, and Business Operations
• Strong functional insight into enterprise IT landscapes
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, DevOps, Lean, or SAFe methodologies
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Able to work both strategically and in detail
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• High level of documentation and reporting skills – accurate, substantiated, and audit-ready
• Independent and organized, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

• A permanent contract and a gross monthly salary between € 3,000,- and € 6,000,- based on full-time employment (40 hours per week);

As gatekeepers of the financial system, banks play a crucial role in protecting our economy against criminal interference. As a result, financial institutions are subject to increasingly strict regulation and supervision. At the same time, global economic instability and increasingly advanced, technology-driven financial crime are making the work of banks increasingly difficult.

As a Business Analyst, you play a key role in shaping, testing, and aligning our sanction screening systems and models with the client's policies, risk standards, and compliance procedures. You are responsible for the full lifecycle of your features – from defining requirements and guiding implementation to monitoring performance and reporting results. You are both a strategic thinker and a hands-on analyst, capable of translating complex business needs into clear and actionable tasks for your squad.

• Specifying business and technical requirements through interviews, workshops, demos, and collaboration
• Defining clear and testable acceptance criteria for features and epics
• Prioritizing and distinguishing between global ‘must-haves’ and ‘nice-to-haves’ to ensure the integrity of global standards
• Analyzing and assessing sanction screening algorithms, rules, and thresholds, and recommending improvements
• Collaborating closely with Product Owners to align backlog refinement and squad priorities
• Communicating technical concepts and solutions clearly to international stakeholders
• Ensuring all solutions comply with internal policies, standards, and regulations
• Performing data analysis and mapping; proposing solutions for data quality issues
• Stimulating a feedback culture and maintaining a proactive, solution-oriented attitude
