Bioprocess Technology Intern Yeast

Within Royal Swinkels, the "Brewing Processes" Team is globally responsible for the development of brewery and process technology for the various breweries. Within the circularity framework, Royal Swinkels is continuously looking for improvements. In addition to purchasing circular raw materials and materials, and sustainable business operations, we investigate possibilities for high-value reuse. The surplus yeast can be used as animal feed, but also as pet food. The yeast can also be processed into human food.

At our R&D lab, we have a small reactor at our disposal. With this reactor, we can conduct targeted research into fermentation processes. We want to conduct research into specific components in the yeast depending on the yeast growth and nutrition of the yeast. Parameters such as oxygen, temperature, and pH are variables in this process.

• You are an HBO or WO student in the field of, preferably, Biotechnology or Food Technology/ Process Technology with an affinity for biorefining.

• You have a strong analytical eye and can quickly grasp processes. Despite that analytical character, you are pragmatic and result-oriented.

• You have a passion for biotechnology. Additionally, you are energetic and strong in interpersonal contact. You use these qualities to create support for your internship research and to get things moving.

• Knowledge and experience in biorefining/ fermentation processes is a plus.
