A positive outcome of a security screening (VGB) is a condition for employment. You can read more about this on the MIVD website.
The role
Are you that motivated Project Engineer who is challenged to create smart solutions in the field of positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT), for both civil and defense purposes? And do you want to help make the world more efficient, smarter, and safer? Then read on!
What you'll do
As a Project Engineer Navigation, you will work on projects focused on the development and testing of positioning and navigation systems, both for GNSS-based navigation (Global Navigation Satellite System, such as GPS and Galileo) and other systems and sensors. The PNT systems are applied to make the positioning of vehicles, including drones, more robust by utilizing various onboard sensors.
Your activities are very diverse. Below are a few examples:
integration/implementation work for prototypes, real-time data processing, real-time data fusion, post-process data analysis;
researching which sensors can be used for navigation purposes and keeping our department's knowledge base in this field up to date;
developing software solutions with which we can experimentally test and compare different methods;
support in the setup, execution, and analysis of tests, such as with a GNSS simulator or at the NLR Drone Centre in Marknesse.
What do you bring?
Working in a structured manner and being eager to learn, you are able to come up with inventive and well-functioning PNT systems. You prefer to work in a team. Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following:
You have completed a technical HBO (higher professional education) degree;
You are analytical, take initiative, and handle tasks independently;
You have experience with programming, such as with Matlab, Python, C++, or ROS2;
You bring relevant interest and/or experience in the field of PNT;
You communicate excellently in both Dutch and English (at least C1 level);
You are willing to work on defense-related projects;
You possess a driver's license;
You are customer-oriented and enjoy translating technical problems into practical solutions.

An end-of-year bonus of 8%;

Your new working environment
You will be working in the Intel and Space Capabilities department within the Aerospace Systems division. This department focuses, among others, on the Dutch government and industry regarding the themes of "spaceflight", "defense and security", and "critical infrastructure". We do this with a focus on reliable and effective information provision, support for decision-making, command and control, mission support, and security in and from space. We are customer-oriented and organized into three collaborating teams. Within this department, you will become part of the Space Information Utilisation team, which focuses on PNT (Positioning, Navigation and Timing) and on ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance).
