The role
As the largest supermarket chain in Europe, we are active in 31 countries. In the Netherlands, we have more than 21,000 employees in 440 branches. The customer is central to us and we have an eye for sustainability, for example by increasingly including more organic, animal-friendly, and sustainable products in our assortment AND through the construction of the most sustainable distribution centers in the Netherlands. That commitment also extends to our employees. Lidl provides a healthy work-life balance, sufficient growth and development opportunities and, of course, the right reward. In addition, diversity and inclusion are high on the agenda at Lidl, so that everyone gets equal opportunities and can develop and we prevent discrimination. Together we make Lidl!
What you'll do
Getting the best out of yourself, your colleagues, and the store every single day. If that is your motivation, the role of assistant supermarket manager at Lidl is a perfect fit for you!
As Assistant supermarket manager, you work with your colleagues towards an optimally running store. That begins with the commitment of the team. You manage the daily planning and the startup, you brief your colleagues, and throughout the day you adjust where necessary. You also roll up your sleeves yourself: think of processing incoming freight, managing orders, write-offs, daily administration, the checkout process, or performing quality controls. You form a close team with the (deputy) supermarket manager. Together you review the daily figures and you think along about the question of how you can deliver even better performance, for example through commercial actions and presentations on the shop floor. You motivate and inspire the team, with an eye for their satisfaction and their long-term development. For customers and colleagues, you are a reliable point of contact.
What will you do?
- You coordinate the work of the team.
- You ensure an optimal presentation of our products.
- You keep a close eye on the performance of your branch.
You have a practical attitude and you do not shy away from responsibilities. People always know they can count on you. You set a good example by working alongside others on the shop floor, where you find efficiency very important. You can communicate matters well to others and you like to take on a leading role. Being customer-oriented means taking that extra step for you to ensure that our customers leave the branch with a smile. Additionally, you possess at least:
