Cloud Consultant Azure

• Senior technical level: extensive experience (typically 5+ years) with a wide range of Azure services and architecture (such as Azure VMs, AKS, Function Apps, various SQL variants, storage, vNETs, vWAN, etc.).

• Experience with cloud strategies and methodologies (including CAF & ALZ), migrations, cost optimization, and performance tuning within Azure.

• Experience in leading technical teams and realizing successful implementations.

• Proven experience with AI-assisted development and (ideally) familiarity with an agentic way of working on a personal level (e.g., use of Claude Code during projects)

• Proven strength in expectation management towards customers, partners, and colleagues, and managing complex, long-term customer relationships.

• The ability to steer based on business value and outcomes, not just technology

• Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Fundamentals).

• Project management skills and the ability to switch between strategy, delivery, and stakeholder management.

• Experience collaborating with sales in setting up projects and customer teams, and managing project administration (project setup and invoicing).

This is a Senior role with a clear Customer Lead overlay. In addition to a strong foundation as an Azure Cloud Consultant, you are the fixed point of contact for the customer and are responsible for the value we realize together throughout the entire lifecycle. You combine technical knowledge with leadership, bring teams and partners along, and translate cloud capabilities into concrete impact. At the same time, you build strong, long-lasting customer relationships and help both the customer and the team move one step further.

As an Azure Cloud Consultant, you are right in the middle of execution:

• You develop cloud strategies and translate business goals into concrete Azure solutions, based on a thorough analysis of the existing IT environment and best practices from Microsoft.

• Together with customers, you explore where AI truly adds value, from smart automation to AI-driven landing zones, and translate this into concrete, scalable Azure solutions that make an immediate impact.

• You take on the role of 'working foreman': you lead engineers and also actively participate in the implementation of cloud solutions.

• You are responsible for delivery within scope, establish a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and monitor progress, quality, and planning together with the project manager.

• You coach and develop your team according to the 'To do, To participate, To do it yourself' principle.

• You ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, and future-proof, and remain involved in optimization and further development after delivery.

You analyze IT environments and translate business goals into concrete Azure strategies, roadmaps, and future-proof solutions.

As a 'working foreman', you lead engineers and participate yourself in the implementation and rollout. You monitor scope, progress, and quality, establish a Work Breakdown Structure, and take ownership of the delivery, in close coordination with the customer and project manager.

You ensure successful delivery and remain involved in optimization, innovation, and further development. This is where the Customer Lead role shines most: you monitor value and co-lead governance with the People & Process Officer.
