Junior Strategic Buyer Foodservice & Fresh

Purchasing at HEMA is constantly in motion. We have sharpened our purchasing strategy and are reorganizing the department, with clusters per product group and a Center of Excellence. Purchasing tasks that are currently partly held by category management will be brought together within purchasing. Within the food cluster, you will be responsible for Foodservice & Fresh.

You translate the purchasing strategy into concrete negotiation strategies for your categories and independently carry out sourcing, negotiations, and contracting. You drive towards a sharp cost price (COGS) through data-driven negotiations and good cooperation with suppliers. You manage your own supplier portfolio and monitor performance on quality, cost, availability, speed to market, innovation, and sustainability. Especially with fresh products, security of supply and quality are crucial.

You ensure that ESG policy and compliance are part of your choices and report on supplier performance and cost developments. You work according to the integral Category Management 2.0 approach, together with category management, the Center of Excellence, and the senior strategic buyer. You participate in department-wide purchasing projects and learn quickly in a dynamic environment.

What else do you bring?

• A completed university degree (WO).
• 2 to 4 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in food, foodservice, or fresh.
• Initial experience with negotiating and contracting with suppliers.
• Experience with data analysis and purchasing tools; you are not afraid to perform a thorough analysis.
• Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages.
