What we're looking for

Work experience: you have at least 8 years of experience within retail or a comparable sector, preferably within procurement, sourcing, category management or procurement excellence. Additionally, you have experience leading complex improvement and change programs.
Education: you have a completed master's degree.
Language skills: you have a good command of the Dutch and English languages.
Strategic ability: you can translate business objectives into concrete programs and have an eye for the coherence between business, processes, people and technology.
Analytical ability: you use data to create insights, identify opportunities and support decision-making.
Digital affinity: you have experience with data and BI solutions such as Power BI and are curious about new technologies such as AI, generative AI, chat tools and digital copilots.
Leadership: you know how to inspire people, create movement and successfully realize change
Program management: you have experience in designing, managing and realizing complex, organization-wide programs with demonstrable results.
Collaboration & communication: you move easily between different stakeholders, know how to connect and create support at all levels of the organization.

The role

Together with colleagues from Procurement, our procurement offices in China, Bangladesh and Turkey, Data & Analytics, Quality, Category Management and Sustainability, you will accelerate the transformation towards a data-driven, digital and future-proof procurement organization. As procurement center of excellence lead, you are the driving force behind the professionalization of our procurement organization. You develop the vision for procurement excellence and translate this into concrete programs, drive data-driven decision-making and ensure that processes, people and systems work together optimally to extract more value from our chain.

What you'll do

Value creation: you develop and realize initiatives that contribute to COGS optimization and sustainable value creation within the entire value chain.
Capability building and leadership: you lead the further development towards a professional, future-proof and data-driven procurement organization, in which continuous improvement is central. You build this new department and lead a team of ~ 7 FTE.
Program management: you manage complex, cross-category improvement programs, such as supplier consolidation, design-to-value and fact-based negotiations.
Performance management & analytics: you develop KPIs, dashboards and management information that contribute to fact-based decision-making and the realization of improvements.
Digital & AI: you manage the deployment of data, AI and new technologies within procurement. This includes analytics, automation, generative AI, chat and copilot solutions and digital decision-support tooling.
Best practices & standardization: you develop and implement tooling, frameworks and standardized processes that increase the effectiveness of the entire sourcing organization.
Change management: you guide teams and stakeholders through changes and increase capabilities within the procurement organization.
