The Internal Audit team at EYNL is looking for a top-notch, objective researcher with a solid IT background.
EYers are trusted advisors to their clients. The Internal Audit team at EY Netherlands fulfills that same role for the Management Board (RvB) and the Supervisory Board (RvC). As a third line, we provide independent, objective assurance and advice on the effectiveness of risk management and governance in an environment that is rapidly digitizing and increasingly deploying AI. In doing so, we operate in a complex and demanding environment, partly due to our statutory responsibilities as a Wta Officer and Wwft Internal Audit Function. Management, supervisors, and external regulators rely on us for substantive sharpness, professional judgment, and top quality. We are externally audited, as required by the Institute of Internal Auditors Netherlands, and we are proud that our focus on quality is at the highest level.
For experienced professionals, this offers an environment with visible impact, substantive depth, and the space to let expertise, leadership, and personality fully shine.
Your new job | About your key responsibilities
As Internal Audit Manager, you will work within EY's own Internal Audit team, a team of seven colleagues plus temporary teammates from our EY network. Colleagues with different backgrounds, specialisms, and personalities—all with a passion for research and strong analytical curiosity. You will lead and perform audits across the entire organization: from regulatory (compliance) themes to advisory from our natural advisory function and investigations at the request of the RvB or RvC.
New & essential in the role
As an organization, we make full use of AI. For the IAF, this requires an audit approach that moves along with processes that are increasingly supported by AI tools. You will soon assess algorithmic decision-making, data quality, AI governance, and AI risks, thereby helping to further strengthen our audit function as a modern, risk-oriented, and technology-aware IAF.
Martine Hunink, Head of Internal Audit:
'The profession of Internal Auditor offers the necessary challenges, especially within an accounting and advisory organization. It is like competing at a top level in sports. A moment of relaxation is not possible in an organization where people understand very well what we do and what we investigate. On the other hand, you can sharpen your knowledge and skills alongside the best professionals to be found.'
What impact can you make?
With your reports, you enable process owners and department heads from the business and the second line to further improve their activities, and you make it possible for the RvB to provide the right direction. You contribute to large internal improvement projects and investigate current themes such as data ethics, AI risks, resilience, independence, and other themes from our cyclical program.
